Yankari, OJO, Farah Elle, Papa Lou & Moving Still at Woweembeem

SATURDAY 2ND FEBRUARY

After an amazing 2018 filling The Sugar Club with diverse & vibrant crowds celebrating life, music & togetherness we enter 2019 trialling a smaller, more intimate venue, Bello bar, but with the same razor sharp focus; bringing people together to experience / enjoy / respect each other’s culture & musical heritage…. **all nations** under a groove.

Here’s the lineup so far —

Yankari (LIVE, Nigeria / Éire)
Incredible 12-piece Nigerian Afrobeat band. Will be amazing to see these guys in such an intimate set up

Farah Elle (LIVE, Libya / Éire)
1-person-room-brighten-upper, rnb / soul / pop from Julianstown, Meath by way of Libya, North Africa

OJO Music (LIVE, Donaghmede / Éire)
4-piece, hang drum, guitar / bass / cajon percussion outfit. Spellbinding stuff!

Papa Lou (DJ, Rialto / Éire)
DJ & promoter of Woweembeem. Interested in feel-good, hypnotic, global music. www.soundcloud.com/papaloudj

Moving Still
DJ & producer, performed his debut live set at Woweembeem in November & has an edit coming out on DAR DISKU late January. More recent material has seen him explore his Saudi roots w/ Arabic samples in his music. All round good lad

+ we are looking into the possibility of keeping it lit somewhere nearby after Bello bar closes, with our DJs spinning ’til late..

Woweembeem: occasional parties and mixtapes promoting music from Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean / French West Indies, South America and all corners of the globe. Celebratory sounds to nourish the soul.
