Shifting // Junk Drawer

Friday 31st January // 8pm // Tickets €10

Shifting are a Dublin based trio formed in 2016. Influenced by the likes of My Disco, The Pixies, The Shipping News, Young Widows and Part Chimp – Lewis (drums) Matt (bass/vox) and Paul (guitar/vox) have busied themselves by blasting out energetic, pulverising shows around Ireland, UK and France, as well as releasing a split 7” record with Galway band – Gummidge. Shifting recorded their debut album in 2019 in Guerrilla Studios in Dublin with local legends John “Spud” Murphy and Ian Chestnutt at the helm. It is due for release in Spring 2020.

JUNK DRAWER

Junk Drawer are four multi-instrumentalists experimenting with psychedelia, krautrock, post-punk and indie rock. Following their first 2 EPs, which garnered plays on BBC Radio 1 & 6Music, they helped spearhead the independent Irish music community with the acclaimed ‘Litany of Failures’ compilations. They’ve toured the UK, supported Mclusky, Built To Spill, Jeffrey Lewis and last year became the first DIY band to win the NI Music Prize when ‘Year of the Sofa’ (described by CLASH as a “slo-mo guitar pop jewel”) won Best Single. Their debut LP ‘Ready For The House’ will come out in Spring 2020 through Art For Blind Records.”
