A night of pianoey-goodness to warm you up this December, featuring Baby Witch, Lōwli, Hannah Hiemstra and Laura Ryder Ampersand.

Lōwli is Roisin Lowry, a musician and songwriter from Galway, Ireland. She creates a unique sound of ethereal vocal melodies, expressive lyrics & rich, orchestral textures.

Only two years into her solo project, she already has several notable shows under her belt, including performances at Sounds from a Safe Harbour and Whelan’s Ones to Watch. She has been listed as one to watch in 2018 by State.ie and Whelan’s and her music has received praise from various sources including The Irish Times.

Following on from her debut release in 2016, Lōwli recently released her second single, ‘Feathers’, taken from her upcoming EP. The single has since received airplay on national and regional radio across the country, including RTE Radio 1 & RTE 2fm.

Hannah Hiemstra:

Hannah Hiemstra is a 22-year old Dutch drummer and songwriter and composer, currently based in Dublin. In early 2018 she started her new three piece band. Accompanying her on piano is Daria Kulikova and Jack-Rufus Kelly on bass. Hannah takes on the role as band leader, composer, drummer and vocalist. This international ensemble creates a distinguished sound. Her music could be described as modern and progressive, yet classical sounding with a dark edge. Influences like Tori Amos and Kate Bush are clearly present in the music. The powerful performance of this trio is not to be missed.

Baby Witch ( Clara Marie )

Clara Marie has been described as a head banging Edith Piaf on French psychedelics.

She recently formed a musical partnership with electronica producer/drummer/housemate Hugh Cresswell and over the past few months they have supported Paddy Hanna (Whelans), Lisa Hannigan (The Bowery) and performed on the Pagoda Stage at Body&Soul.

“Her stage presence is frightening” (Lisa Hannigan)

Laura Ryder Ampersand:

Laura Ryder is a songwriter hailing from Co. Mayo, who is now making music with full band under the title Laura Ryder Ampersand.

Ampersand consists of Lauren Geary on bass, Shay Sweeney on drums, Josh Meakin on guitar, and Matilda O’Mahony & Emily McCormick on backing vocals. The ensuing music is a mix of everything they get their ears on, taking influence from sources like alternative pop, folk, blues, and jazz.

‘Ryder doesn’t look to her influences or peers, from my perspective at least. Her music is truly individual as are her vocals, which is so welcome’ – Remy’s Music Film Blog

‘Wonderfully eclectic jazz-ridden explosion of music, fun and bad punnery’ – Ken Armstrong
